Contact and Connection
I got a great story that I want to share with you. What has to do with the subconscious, everything and nothing. You may say this has nothing to do with the subconscious (nothing). Still, the truth is that the definition of success that most of us have or had programmed in our subconscious
doesn\’t let us concentrate on what is essential (everything). As a result, you likely won\’t allow yourself to connect with the people around you matters. Without further due, I will let you enjoy the story:
A journalist in New York was interviewing a monk. The journalist began the interview with the Monk as planned:
-Sir, in your last lecture you told us about the subject \”Contact and Connection?
It isn\’t very clear. Can you explain?\”
The Monk smiled and apparently deflected from the question posed by the reporter and answered:
-Are you from New York?
-Yes…
-Who is in your house now?
The reporter felt that the Monk was trying to avoid answering his question, as it was a very personal and unwarranted question.
However, the journalist said:
-My mother passed away; my father is there; I have three brothers and a sister. They are all married
The Monk, with a smile on his face, asked again:
-Do you talk to your father?
The journalist seemed visibly annoyed…
-When was the last time you spoke to him?
The reporter, suppressing his annoyance, said:
-Maybe a month ago.
-You as brothers,
When did you last meet as a family?
At this point, sweat appeared on the reporter\’s forehead.
It seemed that the Monk was interviewing the reporter.
Then, with a sigh, the journalist said:
-We last met at Christmas two years ago.
-How many days were you all together?
The journalist (wiping sweat from his forehead) said:
-Three days…
-And… How much time did you spend with your father, sitting next to him?
The journalist looked puzzled and embarrassed and began to scribble something on a piece of paper…
-Did you have breakfast, lunch, or dinner together? Did you ask him how he was? Did you ask him how he spends his days after his mother\’s death?
Tears began to flow from the reporter\’s eyes. The Monk held the journalist\’s hand and said:
-Don\’t be embarrassed, upset, or saddened. I am sorry to have hurt you without knowing it, but this is basically the answer to your question about \”Contact and Connection.\”
You have \”Contact\” with your father, but you don\’t have \”Connection\” with him.
You are not \”Connected\” with him.
\”Connection\” is heart to heart, sitting together, sharing meals and caring for each other, touching each other, shaking hands, seeing each other\’s eyes, spending time together…
Along with your brothers and sister, you have \”Contact\” but not \”Connection\” with each other.
The journalist wiped his eyes and said:
-Thank you for teaching me an excellent and unforgettable lesson.
This is today\’s reality:
Whether at home or in society, we all have many \”contacts\” but no \”connection.\”
We are all busy in our own world…
Let\’s not keep only \”Contacts,\” but stay \”Connected.\”
Take care, share and spend time with your loved ones, family, and friends; we don\’t know when we will depart from this life. A HUG.
I have not much to add. To recommend if you haven\’t done so, watch a TED Talk by Robert Waldinger about what makes a good life. If you are reading this, you have time. Maybe you need to reprogram your subconscious To follow what\’s important, and Life Unblocking can help you. Today is the day!! I wish you a day filled with love and light!
